Basketball Recap: Wabasso Takes a Loss

Wabasso lost against Springfield back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wabasso Rabbits were dealt a 92-60 loss at the hands of the Springfield Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Rabbits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Tigers are ranked 66th).

Brayden Sturm continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Springfield, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Sturm is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Buerkle, who went 5 for 11 en route to 15 points and six boards.

Wabasso dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Springfield, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Wabasso will take on Sleepy Eye at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Springfield has already played their next game (against Loyola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
