Baseball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

While it was Monroe who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Chavez who put up more. The Vikings fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Monroe has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Chavez, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Coming up, Monroe will face off against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings are facing the Vipers at the right time seeing as the Vipers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Chavez, they have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 victory against Sun Valley Magnet on the 26th.
