Softball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Comes Up Short

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Columbus Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Columbus, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Mt. Pleasant didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-0 defeat against Louisa-Muscatine on the 31st. As for Columbus, they have also already played their next game, a 15-3 loss against West Burlington on the 31st.
