The Hebbronville Longhorns will face off against the Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

They never let IDEA Quest College Prep get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Longhorns considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Another player making a difference was Derek Ramirez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Hebbronville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 12.8.
Meanwhile, Falfurrias came tearing into Monday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Trailblazers. The Fightin' Jerseys' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five matches.
Derek Vasquez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Bryan Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs.
Falfurrias' win bumped their record up to 16-8-2. As for Hebbronville, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hebbronville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like Falfurrias struggles in that department as they've averaged .515. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hebbronville couldn't quite get it done against Falfurrias when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 6-1. Will the Longhorns have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
