Preview: Robbinsville Black Knights vs. North Rowan Cavaliers

Two dominant backs in Cuttler Adams and Jaemias Morrow are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Robbinsville Black Knights will play host again and welcome the North Rowan Cavaliers, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

With a playoff game on the line, Robbinsville rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 30-24 victory over the Maroon Devils.

Robbinsville had a senior duo take command as Adams rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns and Chase Calhoun rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns. Adams has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last eight times he's played.

Meanwhile, North Rowan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 48-39 win over Mountain Heritage. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Jeremiah Alford and Morrow were among the main playmakers for North Rowan as the former rushed for 95 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries and the latter rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Morrow was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards.

Robbinsville pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.5 points per game. As for North Rowan, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Robbinsville has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 254.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Rowan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 216.5 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Robbinsville skirted past North Rowan 50-47 in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Will Robbinsville repeat their success, or does North Rowan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
