Volleyball Recap: Chavez Titans vs. East Bakersfield Blades
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chavez can now relate to. They fell just short of the East Bakersfield Blades by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blades this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.
Chavez took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 10-25, 25-11, 15-13.

Chavez's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Chavez, who had 12 digs and two aces. Chavez has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.
Kaylie Demison produced another solid performance getting 42 digs and three aces for East Bakersfield. Another player making a difference was Emma Baltazar, who had 13 digs and four aces.
Chavez's defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-9. As for East Bakersfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-9-1.
Chavez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Bakersfield, they will take on Caruthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
