Baseball Recap: Blue River Valley Victorious

Blue River Valley was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Daleville Broncos, sneaking past 7-6. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Blue River Valley let Jhonny HOWE and EVAN BLACKBURN run wild. HOWE got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while BLACKBURN got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave BLACKBURN a new career-high. GABE BILBY also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Blue River Valley's record is now 5-2. As for Daleville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue River Valley will welcome Union City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Daleville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yorktown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
