            Baseball Recap: Biglerville Canners vs. Fairfield Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Biglerville was handed a heart-breaking two-run  loss in their last  game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Fairfield  on Tuesday. The Canners put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp  8-2 win. The Canners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six  runs or more this season.

 Parker Black was a  major factor no matter where he played. He  pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with one  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Gavin Althoff and  Jared Hollabaugh did most of the damage at the plate:  Althoff  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI, while  Hollabaugh  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Biglerville is undefeated when  Althoff posts two or  more  runs, but 3-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brayden Pearce, who  went 4-for-5 with two  doubles.
 Biglerville  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfield only managed five  hits.
Biglerville's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Fairfield, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14-1 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biglerville will head out to  challenge Hanover  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Nighthawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  game than the last. As for Fairfield, they will head out on the road to  take on  York County Tech  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Knights are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
