Baseball Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. Hillsdale Fighting Knights

For the second straight game, Burlingame will face off against Hillsdale. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Fighting Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Burlingame 3.9, Hillsdale 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Burlingame fell victim to Hillsdale and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Knights.

Burlingame got a good showing from Nash Trautwein, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Trautwein has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Hillsdale pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Burlingame, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
