Centerville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 70-63 win over the Eastern Hancock Royals on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Royals, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centerville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shea Hollendonner, who shot 77% from the field to rack up 28 points. Ethan Vecera was another key player, going 6-for-9 on his way to 14 points along with seven assists and four steals.

Centerville was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Eastern Hancock's also-impressive total of 14.

Eastern Hancock's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Luke Manship, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Caden Powers, who shot 42% from the field en route to 18 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Caleb Retherford, who posted 11 points.

Centerville has already played their next contest, a 99-39 victory against Seton Catholic on the 29th. As for Eastern Hancock, they will be playing at home against New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on December 5.
