Recap: Cholla Chargers vs. Sunnyside Blue Devils
There's no place like home for the Cholla Chargers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 59-51 win over Sunnyside on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cholla also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Cholla got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jerry Mendoza out in front who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. The game was Mendoza 's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyree Jenkins , who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Cholla has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Sunnyside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Cholla will take on Flowing Wells at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Flowing Wells has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 22. Sunnyside and Catalina Foothills will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
