Baseball Recap: Eastern Mennonite Takes a Loss

Eastern Mennonite came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Blue Ridge Barons, falling 15-1. The Flames haven't had much luck with the Barons recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Eastern Mennonite saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Showalter, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Showalter is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played.

Eastern Mennonite's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Blue Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Eastern Mennonite will host North Cross at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blue Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Highland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
