Soccer Game Preview: Sterling vs. DSST: Montview

The Sterling Tigers will take on the DSST: Montview Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Sterling is coming into the game fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Gering that saw the pair combine for 37 shots on goal. Sterling took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gering on Thursday. Kylie Mildenberger probably wasn't too happy after the contest: she scored every single goal for Sterling and still walked away on the losing team.

Meanwhile, DSST: Montview had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it five last Thursday. They never let the Commanders get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. DSST: Montview's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matches.

DSST: Montview's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Sterling, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
