Softball Recap: East Bay Finds Home Field Redemption Against Freedom

There's no place like home for East Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Freedom Patriots with a sharp 17-2 win on Saturday. Considering the Indians have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

East Bay got a massive performance out of Jensen Nelson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Nelson a new career-high in doubles (two). Sophia Briel was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

East Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

East Bay's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Freedom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

East Bay is taking a road trip to square off against Lennard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Freedom, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Spoto at 7:00 p.m.
