Volleyball Recap: Proviso West Comes Up Short

Proviso West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Huskies when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10.

Oak Park-River Forest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Edie Carroll led the charge by getting 17 assists. Those 17 assists gave Carroll a new career-high. Sophia Sood also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Proviso West's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Proviso West has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Hinsdale Central on the 21st. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Fenwick on the 21st.
