Freeport has gone 8-2 against Vernon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. Freeport has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Freeport came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Paxton, falling 19-6. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bobcats since on Tuesday.

Kayla Stephens made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Faith McDonald, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Vernon lost 16-1 to Bozeman on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Bucks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Freeport, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Freeport took their victory against Vernon when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 21-11 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
