Basketball Recap: Cranbrook Kingswood Takes a Loss

Cranbrook Kingswood played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 75-33 defeat at the hands of the Marian Mustangs. The Cranes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-21.

When it comes to explaining why Cranbrook Kingswood lost, don't look at Madeline Day. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Cranbrook Kingswood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Cranbrook Kingswood has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Marian and bumps their season record up to 6-15.

Looking ahead, Cranbrook Kingswood will face off against Pontiac at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Cranbrook Kingswood has given up an average of 50.6 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
