Volleyball Recap: Maury Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Booker T. Washington on Monday, Maury came back down to earth. The Commodores lost 3-0 to the Granby Comets on Wednesday. The Commodores have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

While Maury was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Granby's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-22.

Maury's offense was headlined by Keegan Anuar and Alex VanBenschoten, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Luke Shomaker and his eight assists. Anuar was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Davis Mendoza, who had 19 digs. That's the most digs he has posted over his last ten matches.

Maury's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Granby, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.
