Volleyball Recap: Blaine Find Success

The Blaine Bengals were able to grind out a solid win over the Coon Rapids Cardinals on Monday, taking the game 3-1.

Blaine had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.

Josh Kavanaugh and Griffin Garbow certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Kavanaugh had 12 digs, while Garbow had ten kills and seven digs. Garbow is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Blaine's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Coon Rapids, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, Blaine and Coon Rapids will both be playing Anoka the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will host the Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Bengals will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st.
