After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Lake, Lake Minneola was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Forest Wildcats, sneaking past 6-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Amaliz Martinez was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Plouffe, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
The victory got Lake Minneola back to even at 8-8. As for Forest, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Minneola will welcome Foundation Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forest, they will be playing at home against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
