Baseball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Horizon nor Lakewood made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Hawks took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Horizon got a good showing from Gavin Thurston, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Thurston has allowed since back in April.

Horizon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Lakewood, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-16.

As of now, neither Horizon nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
