Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Crossland Cavaliers with a sharp 53-28 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Crossland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zaida Birruete posted 14 points. Ramia Alston was another key player, putting up six points.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Crossland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.
