Softball Game Preview: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Rockwood Rockets

The Tussey Mountain Titans will head out to square off against the Rockwood Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tussey Mountain's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Thursday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Tussey Mountain's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southern Huntingdon County on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Rockwood came up short against Windber on Tuesday, falling 19-6.

Elika Pletcher and Miley Pletcher did some serious damage despite the final result: Elika scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Miley went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. What's more, Elika posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Emma Brown was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Tussey Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rockwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Tussey Mountain's way against Rockwood in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Tussey Mountain made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tussey Mountain since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
