Basketball Game Preview: Charlottesville Black Knights vs. Albemarle Patriots

Charlottesville hasn't had much luck against Albemarle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Charlottesville Black Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Albemarle Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Charlottesville comes in on five and Albemarle on four.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Charlottesville beat Goochland 55-49.

Meanwhile, Albemarle blew past Fluvanna County, posting a 78-38 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Albemarle pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.4 points. As for Charlottesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Charlottesville came up short against Albemarle in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-40. Can Charlottesville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
