Soccer Game Preview: Goddard vs. Winfield

The Goddard Lions will square off against the Winfield Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

It was a proper cat-fight when Goddard took on Derby on Tuesday. The Lions came up short against the Panthers, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for Goddard in their meetings with Derby: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to Mulvane. That's two games in a row now that Winfield have lost by exactly eight goals.

Goddard now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Winfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8-1.
