Great Bend had already won 11 in a row and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Smith Center Redmen by a score of 2-0. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Redmen, too.

Great Bend never let Smith Center on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21.

Mikala Minton paced Great Bend's offense, picking up eight kills. Minton got some help from Kya Behr and her 18 assists. Minton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Despite the loss, Smith Center still got an impressive performance from Lillie Heiland, who had 23 digs and one assist.

Great Bend's win bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Smith Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-14.

Coming up, Great Bend will challenge Hays at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Smith Center, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Phillipsburg on the 14th.
