Basketball Game Preview: Capitan Tigers vs. Mescalero Apache Chiefs

The Capitan Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Mescalero Apache Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, Capitan took a blow against Cloudcroft, falling 72-45. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mescalero Apache didn't have quite enough to beat Cloudcroft on Saturday and fell 49-47.

Mescalero Apache has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. Capitan's loss dropped their record down to 3-22.

Capitan came out on top in a nail-biter against Mescalero Apache in their previous meeting last Thursday, sneaking past 59-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Capitan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
