Football Game Preview: Marshall Barristers vs. Chatsworth Chancellors

The Marshall Barristers will be playing at home against the Chatsworth Chancellors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Marshall is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 36-20 victory over Bernstein. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barristers.

Marshall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathaniel Cadet led the charge by throwing for 127 yards and two TDs, while also punching in one score on the ground. TJ Olaes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Another reason for the win was Marshall's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Enzo Meres refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself. Olaes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Chatsworth not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 23, 2024 (when they won 41-6). They claimed a resounding 40-12 win over Roosevelt. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Chancellors' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Marshall's record is now 8-3. As for Chatsworth, their record now sits at 2-9.

Marshall was able to grind out a solid victory over Chatsworth when the teams last played back in November of 2019, winning 16-7. Will the Barristers repeat their success, or do the Chancellors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
