Softball Recap: Amsterdam Takes a Loss

Amsterdam had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-8 to make it ten. They fell 7-3 to the Hudson Falls Tigers. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Hudson Falls, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games.

For Hudson Falls' part, Emily Harrington was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Madison Sawyer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amsterdam will head out to square off against Schuylerville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams are facing the Horses at the right time seeing as the Horses are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hudson Falls, they will venture away from home to challenge Scotia-Glenville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
