Basketball Recap: Addy Horsley Key Part of Team Effort in Miners Win

Corner Canyon typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Bingham proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 58-48 victory over the Corner Canyon Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-41 back in January.

Bingham's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addy Horsley, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 18 points and six assists. Lena Casperson was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 10 points and five steals.

Horsley wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Bingham was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Corner Canyon lost, don't look at Addi Yeomans. Despite the final result, she went 7-for-12 to rack up 17 points and seven boards. Yeomans' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Luper, who posted eight points.

Bingham's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games. As for Corner Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Bingham will have a chance to go back-to-back against Corner Canyon: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th.
