Preview: Grayson Rams vs. Buford Wolves
Two dominant signal callers in Jeff Davis and Dylan Raiola are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Grayson Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buford Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Grayson sitting on six straight wins and Buford on five.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grayson had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 42-18 margin over the Wolfpack. Grayson might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.
Grayson can attribute much of their success to Amari Alston, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and Davis, who threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Sanchez, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Norcross typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Buford proved too difficult a challenge. Buford skirted past Norcross 28-25.
Buford had a senior duo take command as Kj Bolden picked up 76 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Raiola threw for 174 yards and four touchdowns. Raiola has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played.
Grayson's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Buford, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
