Ripley faced George Washington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Vikings came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 7-4. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on five straight.

Parker Keller and Bryson Casto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Keller tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Casto tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Keller went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI, while Casto got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Keller has hit this season.

In other batting news, Brady McVay was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Ripley's record now sits at 19-8. As for George Washington, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Ripley will face off against Winfield at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for George Washington, they will take on Morgantown at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.6, the Mohigans 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
