Baseball Game Preview: Lake Highland Prep Highlanders vs. Trinity Prep Saints

Lake Highland Prep is 2-8 against Trinity Prep since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Highlanders will face off against the Saints at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lake Highland Prep is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Satellite on Friday. They lost 8-2 to the Scorpions.

Meanwhile, Trinity Prep fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Orangewood Christian on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 5-4. The Saints' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Aiden Stillman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season.

Stillman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braden Henderson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Lake Highland Prep's record is now 10-12. As for Trinity Prep, their record now sits at 11-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lake Highland Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Trinity Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Lake Highland Prep couldn't quite get it done against Trinity Prep when the teams last played last Tuesday as they fell 5-0. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
