Baseball Game Preview: Wharton Wildcats vs. Plant Panthers

For the second straight game, Wharton will face off against Plant. The Wildcats will square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wharton 3.1, Plant 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wharton heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Wednesday. They fell 11-6 to Plant. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Wildcats, who until this contest were averaging 3.1 runs allowed.

Chase Anello was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Andress, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

The win (which was Plant's ninth in a row) raised their record to 23-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Wharton, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-6.
