DME Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2026 than the 87-57 blowout they got against the Assumption Rockets. Fans of the - have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

DME Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but GiGi Battle led the charge by shooting 53% from the field to rack up 22 points. With that strong performance, Battle is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Sara Okeke, who went 9-for-12 on her way to 18 points and eight rebounds.

DME Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Assumption, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, DME Academy will take on Hamilton Heights Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Assumption, they have already played their next contest, a 61-56 victory against George Rogers Clark on the 8th.
