Baptist Hill took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They blew past Non Varsity Opponent 58-0 at home.

Baptist Hill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Romaine Grant, who rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Franklin, who threw for 215 yards and a touchdown on only 15 passes.

Baptist Hill's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Tay'Von Mann-Geddis was especially locked on to Non Varsity Opponent's QB and sacked him twice. Another thorn in Non Varsity Opponent's side was Kevin Smalls,Jr, who picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made 14 total tackles.

Non Varsity Opponent's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Baptist Hill will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Charleston at 7:30 p.m. on September 6th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 38-8 victory vs. Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams on the 24th.
