Basketball Game Preview: Providence-St. Mel Knights vs. Fenwick Friars

Providence-St. Mel is 1-8 against Fenwick since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Providence-St. Mel Knights will host the Fenwick Friars at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Providence-St. Mel is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against St. Laurence on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Providence-St. Mel came up short against St. Laurence, falling 54-30. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

Fenwick has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 55-45 to Lemont on Saturday.

Fenwick's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Providence-St. Mel, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Providence-St. Mel was dealt a bruising 74-18 defeat at the hands of Fenwick in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Providence-St. Mel was down 37-6.
