Basketball Recap: Western Plains Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Western Plains faced off against Cheylin on Friday. The Western Plains Bobcats were beaten by the Cheylin Cougars 58-28. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Western Plains' loss came despite strong showings from Kalihan Flax and Madelyn Kraus. Flax posted ten points, while Kraus scored 12 points and five boards.

Western Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cheylin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Western Plains wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 37-33 loss against Golden Plains on the 8th. As for Cheylin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-50 defeat against Wheatland-Grinnell on the 8th.
