Softball Recap: Ellsworth Bearcats vs. Spearville Lancers
Ellsworth put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against the Spearville Lancers as the Ellsworth Bearcats made off with a 13-3 victory. The win was nothing new for Ellsworth as they're now sitting on three straight.
For Spearville's part, Aubrey Huston was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Ackerman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Ellsworth's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Spearville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Ellsworth will head out on the road to challenge Kingman on Monday. Ellsworth knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Kingman likes a good challenge. As for Spearville, they will be playing at home against Larned at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
