Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Harper Creek). They put the hurt on the Waverly Warriors with a sharp 20-5 victory on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Beavers considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Harper Creek let Sophie Kline and Kaylee Kirkpatrick run wild. Kline got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI, while Kirkpatrick got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Kirkpatrick has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Blair Yurisch, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Harper Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waverly only managed six hits.
Harper Creek pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Waverly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
