Football Game Preview: Dover Green Wave vs. Timberlane Owls

The Dover Green Wave will face off against the Timberlane Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Dover nor Timberlane posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Dover took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Spaulding get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Timberlane faced Manchester Memorial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Owls had to suffer through a 40-12 loss at the hands of the Crusaders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Owls have suffered since October 10, 2024.

Timberlane's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dover, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Dover beat Timberlane 35-28 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Do the Green Wave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Owls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
