Softball Recap: Port Angeles Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Port Angeles had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Bainbridge on Thursday. The Roughriders never let the Spartans get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. Considering the Roughriders have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Port Angeles pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Bainbridge, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Port Angeles is set to square off against their familiar foe Olympic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Roughriders 3.2, the Trojans 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bainbridge will take on rival Sequim at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
