Baseball Game Preview: Austin Packers vs. Faribault Falcons

The Austin Packers will take on the Faribault Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Austin and four for Faribault.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Austin and John Marshall meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Packers fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 2-1.

Austin got a good showing from John Rollie, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits.

On the hitting side, Austin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonah Klein, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Kam Lundberg also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Faribault fell victim to Century and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-0.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Faribault, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
