Football Recap: Ridgeview Wolf Pack vs. Grace Lancers
Ridgeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They and the Grace Lancers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Ridgeview Wolf Pack suffered a 22-21 loss. One positive for the Wolf Pack, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Ridgeview still got an impressive performance from Jon Gutierrez, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Gutierrez's longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Mason Mendoza was another key player, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown.
He was just one part of a punishing run game: Ridgeview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 258 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Grace, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview will venture away from home to square off against Tulare Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tulare Union knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Ridgeview likes a good challenge. As for Grace, they will challenge Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Park will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Grace surely won't give up without a fight.
