Volleyball Recap: Tri Falls Despite Big Games from Camrie Spurgin and Ava Houchins

Tri was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Union County Patriots. The Titans were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-11, 19-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Tri's loss came despite strong showings from Ava Houchins and Camrie Spurgin. Houchins had 15 digs and three assists, while Spurgin had eight assists and seven digs. Houchins is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Tri's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Union County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-14.

Tri has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Blue River Valley on the 4th. As for Union County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Hagerstown on the 7th.
