Volleyball Recap: New Smyrna Beach Falls Short of Innovation in the Playoffs

New Smyrna Beach and Innovation squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but New Smyrna Beach had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulls, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Barracudas of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-20.

New Smyrna Beach dropped their record down to 10-17 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Innovation, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

New Smyrna Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Innovation, after both having extra time off, they and Lake Wales will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
