Roosevelt never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Northridge Grizzlies with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Roughriders have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Israel Castillo, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Northridge off the board.
On the hitting side, Luke Unruh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sauer, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted a batting average of .130.
Roosevelt's record is now 14-5. As for Northridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on Greeley West at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northridge, they will challenge Greeley Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
