Soccer Recap: Wilkes Central Starts off Right with Win over Avery County

Wilkes Central had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Their defense stepped up to hand the Avery County Vikings a 9-0 shutout. Wilkes Central were shut out 4-0 the last time they took on Avery County, so Wilkes Central were just returning the favor.

Coming up, Wilkes Central will venture away from home to take on Heide Trask at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Avery County, they will challenge West Wilkes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
