Lincoln entered their tilt with Taylorville on Saturday with four consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Taylorville Tornadoes by a score of  40-30. Given the Railsplitters' advantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 93rd, while the Tornadoes are ranked 218th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Karson Komnick, who  posted 12  points and six  steals. Those six  steals gave  Komnick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Blake Horn, who  had 11 points along with six  boards and three  steals.
Lincoln pushed their record up to 15-8 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Taylorville,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 12-12.
 Lincoln will take on Glenwood at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Taylorville, they will venture away from home to  take on Mt. Zion  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
