Softball Recap: Dale County Warriors vs. Ashford Yellowjackets
It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Dale County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Ashford Yellowjackets 7-5. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Shayleigh Whitman made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over ten innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with one home run and three RBI.

Dale County's victory bumped their record up to 21-10. As for Ashford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, Dale County and Ashford will both be playing Geneva the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
